The Law Reform Commission has emphasised the importance of strong, clear and coherent election laws to Liberia's democratic stability and institutional legitimacy.
During engagement with the National Elections Commission in February 2026, the Commission highlighted the need for sustained collaboration between institutions responsible for elections, legal reform and democratic governance.
Electoral reform requires careful legal analysis, broad consultation and consistent attention to constitutional safeguards. The Commission's role is to support review of the legal framework and help identify areas where greater clarity, consistency or modernisation may be required.
