The Law Reform Commission, working with the National Housing Authority and other national stakeholders, convened a validation exercise in June 2026 on a draft New National Housing Authority Bill.
The reform process is intended to update the legal framework established under the National Housing Authority Act of 1960 and address contemporary issues in housing, urban development, land management and infrastructure planning.
The validation brought together government institutions, legal experts, civil society and development partners to review the draft before it proceeds through the appropriate government and legislative processes.
