Executive Order No. 84 — Management of Liberia's Fishery Resources, 2017
Issued in April 2017 as an interim fisheries-management measure pending enactment of the national fisheries legislation, Executive Order No. 84 transferred supervisory, oversight and fiscal authority over the Bureau of National Fisheries and fisheries resources to the Liberia Maritime Authority, reduced the Inshore Exclusive Zone established by the 2010 Fisheries Regulations from six to three nautical miles, and introduced temporary fisheries-management measures. The National Fisheries and Aquaculture Authority Act of 2017 expressly provides that EO 84 ceases to have legal effect upon publication of that Act and establishment of the Authority.
