Act

Truth and Reconciliation Commission Act of Liberia, 2005

Approved on 10 June 2005 and published by authority of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 22 June 2005, the TRC Act established Liberia's Truth and Reconciliation Commission and defined its mandate, powers, composition, reporting duties and implementation framework. Section 5 gave the Commission a two-year operational lifespan plus three months to conclude its work and report, subject to limited legislative extensions. The Commission later completed its institutional operations; this source is therefore catalogued as historical legislation without implying that every post-report obligation created by the Act has been repealed.
